Exporting Database Backup

Creating a database backup ensures that your application data is safe and can be restored anytime in case of accidental loss or migration. Follow the steps below to export the database using phpMyAdmin.

Step 1: Open phpMyAdmin

Login to your cPanel or local server and open phpMyAdmin. You’ll see a list of all available databases on the left sidebar.

Step 2: Select Your Application Database

From the left sidebar, click on the database used by your application to open it. You will now see all the related tables and data structures.

Step 3: Go to Export Tab

Click on the Export tab from the top menu. You’ll find two options – “Quick” and “Custom.” Select the Quick export method and make sure the SQL format is selected.

Step 4: Export and Save the File

Click the Go button at the bottom. A SQL file containing the entire database will be downloaded. Save this file securely on your system or cloud storage for future restoration.

Pro Tip

For better data safety, schedule weekly or monthly backups and store them on external drives or secure cloud platforms.
