MIAS — Functional Documentation

Overview of how each MIAS module functions — focusing on its purpose, inputs, actions, and outcomes in simple terms.

This document provides a basic functional idea for users and administrators to understand what each part of MIAS does and how it should be used effectively.

Modules and Their Functions

Dashboard

Shows an overall summary of project progress, recent activities, and important notifications. Users can quickly see project data and navigate to detailed reports.

Entry Point Activities (EPA)

Used to record and monitor small-scale development works carried out under the project. Users can add details like location, cost, date, and related documents for each activity.

Soil and Water Conservation (SWC)

Used to manage soil and water conservation structures. The module allows entry of details like structure type, location, and expenditure with photo uploads.

VFMS (Village Forest Management Society)

Maintains records of village-level forest management groups, their members, meetings, and related financial activities.

Training Management

Used to plan and record training events for staff and communities. Allows entry of trainers, participants, training category, and cost details.

Nursery Management

Keeps track of nursery stock, species, and costs. Helps in planning plantation activities and maintaining records of sapling production.

Finance & Budget

Records all financial transactions related to project activities. Supports report generation and helps track budget utilization and expenditures.

HRMS & Employee

Manages employee details, categories, and job profiles. Used to view profiles, manage teams, and maintain attendance or assignment data.

Reports & Dashboard Outputs

Provides printable and exportable reports for different modules. Common formats include activity summaries, financial statements, and training records.

User & Permission Management

Allows administrators to create users, assign roles, and manage permissions. Ensures secure and authorized access to modules and reports.

Common Functional Features

Data Validation

  • All mandatory fields must be filled.
  • Only valid numbers and dates are accepted.
  • File uploads restricted to allowed formats (JPG, PDF, XLS).

Navigation & Access

  • Easy module-based menu system.
  • Role-based access to features.
  • Breadcrumb and back navigation on all pages.
